Welcome to the Blog for Modern Philosophy!

Here we will post bi-weekly thoughts on passages from the reading.

The class will be split in half and each group will rotate weeks.
1) Try to keep your posts under 150 words.
2) Don't quote more than a sentence, just the necessary stuff for your post
2.5) Give the page or line number
3) aim to be provocative more than exhaustive
4) Go for specifics rather than generalities
5) Posting a question is perfectly fine, but give enough background for us to see what the question is and why it is a question for you
6) There is a sample post on the syllabus on Hobbes' Leviathan. You do not need to follow the format, that just gives you a general idea.

Responding to blog posts will be considered a part of your participation grade. 1 response per week is expected, more can help a student that does not speak much in class. But still work to speak in class! Keep responses very short, as short as possible while still providing some substance. Post agreement, disagreement, point to other passages (just give page or line number) that support or argue against, ask for clarification, etc.

The Groups are
Week 1 (due this Sunday at midnight): Mackenzie, Matt, Trey Gwaltney, Ryan, Zoe, Steve, Chase

Week 2 (due Sunday the 8th at midnight): Alic, Sarah, Trey George, Joe, Amy, Abi, Jesse
